Dear All
Here is the likely plan for October.
We have worked hard to meet everyone’s requirements as closely as possible.
Changes will ONLY be made for a genuine training issue. Please do not contact us on the off-chance that a change can be made for e.g. a shorter commute.
The Deanery are triple checking that we have not e.g. inadvertently put too many people in the same Trust. So do not move house or buy an electric car until the final confirmation of all this is published on 12/7/22.
We are, however, 99% sure that this allocation grid is accurate and reflects where you will go in October – final confirmation on or before 12/7/22.
Six Month Placements
We have more movement in April than there was this year. Those of you changing Trust are doing so to maximise the training opportunities for you all. It is IMPERATIVE that you follow the Code of Conduct with regards to 6-month placements. The biggest requirements are:
The Deanery prefer 12 month placements (as do you in an ideal world) but we have pushed hard for approval of the six month changeover to help everyone get the best possible training opportunities for CCT and future sub-speciality interest. This “scheme” will be shut down if any of the pairings fail to follow these Rules. Thank you!

- Please check that you are on the list. If not shout loud and fast!
- Please let us know if your ST grade is inaccurate.
- If you are disappointed because there is a foreseeable Training problem, then please let us know ASAP.
- If there is a domestic / geographic problem then we sympathise and hope you can find ways to work around that.

We have more movement in April than there was this year. Those of you changing Trust are doing so to maximise the training opportunities for you all. It is IMPERATIVE that you follow the Code of Conduct with regards to 6-month placements. The biggest requirements are:
- Take Annual and Study Leave allocations equally between the 2 hospitals (plan ahead, especially if you have the exam to factor in please)
- Do not be on-call for the last night before April change-over
- Ensure the Trust and the Department know exactly what is going on, when and why.
